Maybe I'm missing something, but I enjoy and find clarity of thought and inspiration from language considered obscure. I find it best explains the topic at hand, or, if I don't understand it, I find it a real pleasure to do some research to learn what it means. On the other hand, 1 Corinthians 13 verse 2 says in part "if I comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge... but do not have love, I am nothing".
ReplyDeleteAs a convert to the faith, I have a bias toward using scripture along with the tradition. I am currently in the Bible Timeline study group, and it has really helped me understand parts of the Catholic faith that were unclear to me, and this after nearly 49 years as a convert.
