1. For Martin, Bernadette symbolizes the need to remain true to one’s own personal vision. When have you felt challenged in that regard?
I've felt continually challenged like that during my journey into the Catholic Church. My family does not understand why I feel I must become Catholic. My dear patient wife gradually allowed me to do this but does not share my viewpoint, and my extended family is having trouble accepting that I am no longer with Jehovah's Witnesses. I understand it must seem very strange to them, and sometimes I feel like I must be crazy. But I also feel God assures me it will all work out. I feel He set me on this course and I cannot in good conscience refuse it.
