3. Do you believe you have met any saints? What made those individuals holy in your eyes? How have they influenced you?
Yes. My first encounter was with an 80 year old woman who I knew in my 20s. She was a wonderfully spry and warm person who loved with her whole being. The last time I saw her was at a party where everyone who knew her sent her off to Alabama where she would spend the rest of her life serving with an Native American tribe.
Other than that, I was privileged to get a glimpse of Mother Teresa in Cincinnati, OH, year ago when she visited there. I also served on the Alumnae Board of Directors at St. Mary-of-the-Wood College during the time that Mother Theodore Guerin was blessed and then canonized. I learned more during that time about the selection and canonization of a saint than I could have by just reading about it.
